Suspension arm

Every suspension arm carries an enormous responsibility. As the mechanical link between wheel hub and chassis, it holds the wheel in place, absorbs vertical movement, and transmits every steering command. Traditionally cast in aluminium, these components are built tough by necessity.

We set out to answer a simple question: how much mass is essential, and how much is excess?

Starting from a reverse-engineered model of an existing suspension arm, we applied our optimisation algorithm to rethink the material density throughout the part. We ran an iterative design process simulating, refining, and redesigning within the original component's footprint to unlock the full potential of lattice structures without compromising performance.

It result in a lattice-structured suspension arm, still cast in aluminium, that matches the stiffness of the original design while using 29% less material.
