In 2019, an unexpected encounter between Ximena and Romuald,
through the Biomimicry Institute in France, led to a decisive breakthrough. They bonded over a shared observation and a common goal : the increasing scarcity of resources and the need to optimise their use.

Ximena, a musculoskeletal therapist specialising in bone density, and Romuald, an R&D director with 30 years’ experience in industry, asked themselves the following question: could bone structures be applied to industrial manufacturing? 

They then set out to find an industrial approach that would optimise materials by drawing inspiration from nature, and founded Modulatio in 2022.
